Techniques, Patterns and Traditions

Learn about the history and techniques of Estonian knitted lace. This book and the companion DVD contain the results of Nancy's research into Estonian knitting. The book (softcover) includes a chapter on the history of these beautiful knitted shawls and scarves, a dictionary of patterns, including variations of the popular Lily of the Valley pattern, instructions for knitting a traditional lace shawl and 14 patterns, with graphs, for shawls and scarves.

The DVD contains a short history of this shawl tradition and instructions for making three styles of rectangular shawls: a style witha garter edge, a traditional style with a sewn on edge, and a modern style with picked up edges.
